Diabetes Awareness Month Recap

JDRF officially has another Diabetes Awareness Month in the books! November was a very successful month here at the Northeast Wisconsin Chapter! We kicked it off with our Annual Research Update where we had over 100 attendees listen to Kady Helme, JDRF Mission Manager, discuss her experience being a part of the clinical trials for the recently approved Artificial Pancreas. She also discussed many of the amazing treatments and cures on the horizon. If you were unable to attend, feel free to follow the linkĀ here and see her speech from the Southeast Wisconsin Chapter research update!

We were lucky enough to also haveĀ two sneaker campaigns. Final numbers are still out on the Korneli’s campaign, but Grand Central Station raised over $16,000 dollars! We are so thankful these amazing businesses stepped up to help make Type One Type None!

Lastly, our staff stopped in at the local Appleton High School’s and had great conversations with local students effected by diabetes and were able to share the amazing news about the Artificial Pancreas and how these students will be able to possibly change their lives with them. We were so excited to share our knowledge with these students!

Overall, November was a great month full of awareness and great news we were able to share with the northeast Wisconsin area. Thank you for all of your support during Diabetes Awareness Month!
