The JDRF Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter recently implemented the Young Leadership Committee (YLC). The YLC is a group of young professionals dedicated to raising awareness, amplifying the fundraising impact and extending the reach of JDRF in the Southeastern Wisconsin area through the active engagement of local young leaders in our community.
The YLC hosts various fundraising, networking and social events in the greater Milwaukee area that aim to attract hundreds of young professionals between the ages of 21 and 40 dedicated to better treating, curing and ultimately finding a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D).
Since the YLC’s inception in March of 2012, they have hosted many networking events at various bars and restaurants in the Greater Milwaukee area- giving local young professionals the opportunity to connect and network. Networking events are held bi-monthly.
The YLC also hosts an annual signature event which is their major fundraising vehicle. Each September the YLC gathers to watch the first NFL football game of the year, along with other YLC chapters throughout the country. In their two years of holding this event, the YLC has raised over $12,000!
The YLC is led by young professionals who have taken an active role in committing to further JDRF’s mission and the reach of the YLC in Southeastern Wisconsin. Check out these links if you’d like to learn more about becoming a member of the executive committee of the YLC:
